I root all my android phones - and my Chromebooks :) .

• I rooting and customize bootloaders - why people accept to have s.o. else’s property in their pocket anyway ? - that communicates with their Wifi, broadband and stores their ahem intimate life
• I firewall my devices - no Google in here
• I LoJack them - my devices ‘phone home’ (pun intended) even when restarted. You’d have to make a complete firmware+ROM reinstall to somehow trust a stolen device from me
